Making your own toothpaste

I have gathered some basic toothpaste recipes that I have used in my own home. There are no rules when making your own natural products. You can add and delete as many things as you like to what suites
you best and what you and your family may like. They are fun to play around with and can become great projects for you and your children to do as a craft.

The Baking soda and glycerin recipe

This recipe was not the best of them. I tried this one with the glycerin but it was overpowering. I stopped using this one especially after reading more about glycerin and how it stays on your teeth for days. So what I did was omit the glycerin and just used ..

  • 4 Tablespoons of Baking soda
  • 1 Tea spoon of ground cloves
  • 1 Tea spoon of mint essential oil
  • 1 Tea spoon of sea salt

The Baking soda and Coconut oil recipe

I use this recipe quite often and my family likes it better because it feels more like toothpaste than the dry one above. Just mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

  • 1/4 cup of Baking soda
  • 1 Teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of honey
  • 10 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • Enough coconut oil to form a paste

Alternative ingredients to use in your toothpaste
Here is a list of substitutes or alternatives you can use to create you own homemade toothpaste.
  • Cinnamon essential oil
  • Orange essential oil
  • Tea tree oil (antibacterial properties that are good for your mouth)
  • Calcium powder
  • Stevia

Where to store your new toothpaste?
There are a couple of ways you can store your toothpaste. In my home I use whatever I have available. Anything form a glass jar or a small plastic container. It depends really on your preference. You can have separate containers for you and your family members if you are worried about sharing germs.

Also for the toothpastes that are not in dry form you can use a zip-lock bag to put your toothpaste in and cut the corner so you can just easily squeeze it on your toothbrush.

If yall have any other recipes for toothpaste that you would like to share please leave a comment to share it with the people. Lets put our creative minds together to make sure we are helping and building one another. Something so simple as sharing a recipe shows charity for one another. We have to start somewhere, so I look forward to what you all find and if any of these have worked for you!
