Almond milk is rich in calcium and vitamin E. Its also less in calories so its great to drink if you are on a diet and trying to lose weight. Not to mention it tastes so good. All you need is a blender and some almonds and you are almost done making your almond milk!
Almond Milk Recipe
- 1/4 kl of Almonds (soaked overnight)
- 3-4 cups of water (depending on how thick you want your milk to be)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick
- 2-3 dates, or 1-2 figs, or 2-3 tbsp of honey (to sweeten it or you can leave it unsweetened)1 cheesecloth or plain non print scarf that's not tight knit to squeeze out the pulp
- Soak you almonds overnight or longer. I think they are better the longer they soak and the milk is more creamy for me.
- Once they are soaked you can throw them in the blender with your water. Add everything in except the cinnamon stick if you are using one. Blend until its creamy and you don't hear the almonds grinding anymore.
- Take a bowl or your pitcher and put the cheesecloth on top. Pour the milk into the pitcher and let the cheese cloth catch the pulp from the almonds. You can do a small amount at a time or you can pour it all at once.
- Take the cheese cloth with the almond pulp and squeeze the rest of the milk out. Store in the refrigerator and you are done!
What do I do with the pulp?
You can throw it away or if you are creative you can dry it out in the sun or on your counter and then make almond flour using your food processor.
Let me know how you like it!! I hope it will be a blessing to yall!
